Find a Therapist Who Feels Like the Right Fit

The right fit helps therapy feel more natural. More personal. More like you are being met by someone who understands more than just the surface.

At Peace Love Wellness, our clinicians each have different identities, backgrounds, styles, and lived experiences. Our matching process helps you find care that feels warm, grounded, and personal.

Peace Love Wellness is an online therapy group practice serving clients across New York. We offer relational, trauma-informed therapy for adults, couples, and relationships, with careful matching, insurance options, and a diverse team of clinicians.

Our matching process considers clinical needs, therapy style, identity or lived-experience preferences, insurance, availability, schedule, and whether a supervised or fully licensed clinician may be the right fit.

We will help you find your match

Some people arrive with a clear sense of who they would like to meet. Others discover what feels right as they learn more about the clinicians available. Either way, our matching process is here to help you begin with more clarity and care.

When you reach out, we take time to understand what may matter most for you: your goals, what you are hoping feels different, your therapy-style preferences, any identity or lived-experience preferences, your insurance, your availability, and whether you are open to working with a supervised clinician. Then we suggest up to three clinicians who may feel like a strong fit.

We cannot always guarantee a therapist who matches every part of your identity or experience. We will be honest about what is possible and help you find a clinician who can meet your life with care, respect, and real attention.

Finding the right match for you

For some people, fit means working with someone who shares or understands part of their identity, culture, or lived experience. For others, fit may be more about pace, warmth, clinical style, insurance, or the bodily sense that starting with this person feels steady and aligned.

We take all of it seriously. Fit can include:

Identity & lived experienceCulture, family & belongingBody, neurodivergence & embodimentRelationships, intimacy & attachmentTrauma, grief & emotional patternsTherapy style & presenceInsurance & availabilitySupervised or fully licensed care

Working with a supervised clinician

Some clients are matched with one of our supervised clinicians, licensed-eligible therapists who practice under close supervision from experienced New York-licensed clinicians, within the same relational, trauma-informed framework as the rest of the team.

Choosing a supervised clinician often means sooner availability and strong insurance access, without compromising the quality or depth of care. Many people do some of their deepest work with them.

Questions about finding a therapist

Do I need to choose a therapist myself?

No. You are welcome to read through profiles, but you do not have to decide alone. Our intake process helps us understand what kind of fit may matter for you.

Can I ask for a therapist who shares part of my identity or lived experience?

Yes. If shared identity, culture, neurodivergence, relationship structure, spirituality, or lived experience matters to you, tell us. We will factor it into matching whenever possible.

Can you guarantee a specific identity match?

We cannot always guarantee a therapist who matches every part of your identity or experience. We will be honest about what is possible and help you find a clinician who can meet your life with care, respect, and real attention.

What if it does not feel like the right fit?

Fit matters. If something does not feel right, let us know. We will talk it through and help you consider another clinician when possible.

Are supervised clinicians qualified?

Yes. They are licensed-eligible therapists practicing under close supervision from experienced New York-licensed clinicians, within our shared relational, trauma-informed framework.

Not sure who to choose?

You do not have to have the perfect words or know exactly who you are looking for. Reach out, and we will help you find a therapist who may feel like the right fit.
